We need your help, Boston! Can you help us identify these Boston Fire Dept. firefighters photographed with Mayor Flynn in the 1980s? We think the photo was taken at Engine 24 in #Dorchester andwe see Commissioner Stapleton. Adam Gaffin Dorchester Reporter ow.ly/9mxw50GGbbG

Step back in time to #onthisday in 1912 when you could get lunch at the Bowdoin Sq Waldorf's and then pop upstairs for a set of Dr. Towne's skillfully constructed artificial teeth. Perfect adaption guaranteed! ow.ly/lgEy50GJtw5

It irks me that one-tgird of Franklin Park us occupied by a golf course. It means non golfers, who constitute a majority of Bostonians, can only access the open space Olmstead envisioned for promenading during the winter months or after nightfall.

Olmstead didn't approve of the refectory at Franklin Park either. But I would have liked it. Especially when it served for several years as a Boston Public Library branch. Can you imagine reading under the portico while the sun sets over the meadow?
