*I wonder if there are other jobs in which being shouted at, spoken to in a condescending bark and/or being treated differently to male counter parts is just accepted as “the way things are.”
*sigh*

Judges. If you keep screaming at barristers. Bullying them. Humiliating them. I can ASSURE you there will be a time where you have NOONE left. You have been given great authority by the state. Don’t abuse it please.

Extended hours disproportionately affect those with childcare or other caring responsibilities. It was roundly rejected and placed on the scrap heap. Yet here it comes again. The criminal bar cannot cope as it is without forcing people out…2/3

The CBA urges all resident judges and listings departments to not allow the creep of Extended Operating Hours to continue. Failure to do this will push caregivers out of the profession and threatens the proper administration of justice.

The CBA These ridiculously long lists are not only unfair on the advocates but also judges and court staff.
A backlog will not be shortened by exhausting the ever-diminishing cadre of people who want to work in our criminal courts.

I’d be lying if said I wasn’t tempted…..

Counsel doing 10 crown court hearings in a day… killing themselves through work.. Is this what the deal with the MOJ envisaged as our promise to help reduce the backlog!?
