Surprisingly Pete Thamel Dan Wetzel , Army has only won Rifle once since 1982. WVU leads with 20 and Alaska is second with 11. UK and TCU both have 4. I have to say that I am surprised about TCU being in there.

Checked KenPom and in the last few years very rarely has a top 20 Offensive rated team not made the tournament. In both 24 and 25 Iowa was rated top 20 in offense but failed to make it. Complete and total opposite of the philosophy of their football program. Mike Casazza

Nic Pod Unreasonable Doubt It has been a tough few years & having bad teams end NCAA hopes sucks. UK will likely finish 9th in the SEC with a reported 20 Million dollar team. Pope can coach but bringing in 10 new guys even for blue bloods has risks. Got to have stability at WVU

Really enjoyed your podcast Dan Wetzel & Rece Davis despite one of my earliest football memories was a sad one when ND beat WVU I always liked Lou on TV. The one about swimming 1/2 way across the Ohio River only to get scared & swim back was always my favorite line of his.

I enjoyed the pod Whitey Williams and wanted to comment on what you said about QB's in football today. I liken it to college basketball players in that it is going to be very rare where guys stay for 4 years at one school. Just too many factors to pull them away.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see current BIG and SEC schools that aren't competitive not be invited. Especially some BIG schools that have been hammering checks for awhile now and remain lousy. Couz's Corner

Unfortunately I think Josh Pate got it right and WVU hasn't been in the AP top 25 since 2018. I think they were in the coaches poll after going 9-4 in 2023, but that's about as close as it gets.

So Mike Casazza I have heard Dan Wetzel bring up the same point about Army being good at rifle and how that would be a good thing. I would think that many of their more talented rifleman might have different roles than a rifle team member at WVU. Still nice to see WVU get #21
