Food is a human need & should be treated as a human right! We proudly signed an open letter calling on Canada to ensure food security for all, in connection w/ the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty earlier this week. Thanks Canada Without Poverty for your leadership. #ChewOnThis

Oh Canada! How is it possible that we are a top 10 performing economy globally + yet people have to live in tents. This is Halifax but could be almost anywhere x the country. All orders of govt are accountable to human rights commitments made. Cities can't do this alone.

Homelessness is growing everywhere. A reminder: homeless ppl are rights holders, their encampments are rights claims + their supporters are human rights defenders. As such - human rights law applies wrt all related laws, policies, procedures and resource allocation.

This year, CPJ has accomplished a lot with relatively few resources✅. From successfully advocating to end immigration detention in four provinces, to influencing policy debates through our events and publications. Yet, with your support, we can achieve much more. 1/5
