I just learned one of the major tech conferences doesn’t cover speaker travel or accommodations and while I shouldn’t be surprised, I am. Many companies also aren’t covering conferences for employees anymore so I’m guessing speakers are coming out of pocket to speak 🥴

The older and more senior I get is the less I want to publicly talk about work 😂 I’ve accomplishing so much in the last 3 years but my content output about it has been so low

I want to add startup life is one way to do this if you’re not at a big name company that gives out stock. It’s more risky because equity in a startup before it goes public feels like imaginary money, but if you find the right company the payoff can be worth it.

I don’t think anyone should work well under pressure for work unless you’re in the medical field or deal with emergencies. But one skill all leaders should have is to not create more stress during stressful situations.
