I have to say, I’ve had some pretty terrible interactions on Facebook, too. Especially in comments on stories that are boosted or advertised to reach more people.

I’m a critic, correspondent and guest anchor for NPR. I don’t work in finance. But our financial information is publicly available. The last figure I had for $$ we get directly from government was 4 percent or our budget in 2017; close to 40 percent from public donations.

I've rarely interviewed someone open as Elegance Bratton, writer/director of The Inspection - a film based on his life as a Black, homeless gay man who joins the Marines. Elegance said he had dreamed of an NPR interview for years; we were honored. LISTEN: loom.ly/UeXixRs

There's a lot of information on the end of FCCs fairness doctrine and the rise of Rush Limbaugh/right wing talk radio right after, in my book Race-Baiter: amazon.com/gp/product/B00…

It's always interesting to get lectured on what constitutes respectable journalism by people hiding behind pseudonyms and fake usernames. Makes you wonder if they even read the message before they hit send. LOL.

The fairness doctrine requires government appointees to judge when news coverage is fair. I don’t think that’s realistic. It also wouldn’t apply to cable TV or the internet, which is beyond the FCC’s jurisdiction.

This feels a bit meta, but I’m tweeting a link to my interview on ATC w/tech columnist extraordinaire Kara Swisher. We talk her recent war of words w/Elon Musk, whether we’re living through the fall of the tech bros and the future of Black Twitter. loom.ly/IA4uPWM

I respect anyone’s decision to leave a social media platform they feel isn’t working for them. But I, personally, am not ceding anything - a social media network or country - to people whose values I don’t respect without a fight.
