I wouldn’t say that. I’d say it’s a film about bland, vague nostalgia, and the chutzpah of a celebrity who crafted a movie mostly as an excuse to hang out with and mess around with his friends on camera.

As a young, Black musician who wanted to play rock along with everything else, this record was my Bible for a while. Mad thanks to Vernon and the crew for giving hard rock blerds like me some hope…
