#ObjectoftheDay is this ornate, painted #ancientEgyptian figure of a hippocampus. Made from #cartonnage & dated to the #PtolemaicPeriod c.305 to 30 BCE. The #hippocampus is a #creature of #Greek #mythology comprising of a snake with the head of a horse. E.2002
