It’s Black maternal health week! Despite progress, Black women are still four times more likely to die in pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period in the UK (MBRRACE 2023)

Each day has a different theme all under the overarching goal of 'Advancing Black Maternal Health'

Black women are STILL 4 times likely to die in pregnancy, childbirth and 6 weeks after in the UK (MBRRACE 2023).

We have come together with a host of Black led organisations, for a weeklong campaign to raise awareness about the disparities in maternal outcomes.

The Rwanda Bill trades on racist narratives.

It scapegoats and dehumanises the most vulnerable people - disproportionately people of colour - nurturing the conditions for racism.

It is a terrible indictment of our political system that it has passed.

One issue that affected Brown women was virginity testing on fiancées coming to the UK.

They had invasive vaginal testing to ‘prove’ that they were virgins and therefore legit fiancées and not trying to fleece the system…
