Once more for the people in the back: STOP ASKING KIDS TO MEMORIZE THEIR TIMES TABLES. If your goal is fluency, guess what? Memorization isn't going to help with that. It will provide automaticity (maybe) if they remember them correctly, but it will mostly cause anxiety/stress.

Best planning decision I’ve made since COVID began: I plan a week at a time, but run my weeks Tuesdays to Mondays (instead of M-F). This means I’m always ready at the start of the week and have Monday to finish planning for the next “week.” It’s been a huge relief.

We are loving Graham Fletcher’s Multiplication Array Cards for working on fluency. Our daughter feels more confident every time she uses the arrays to help her. 😊😊 Free at gfletchy.com/2015/08/17/not…

Are Base 10 Blocks good for teaching + – x ÷? Not at all. Place Value? Okay, but only as part of the right progression of concrete materials! Join us as we take Operations, Place Value & C-P-A progression to another level. SAT A.M. MATH MEETups are back! TangMath.com/UP

DOOR DARERS Crack the Code (Beginners) Jamboard is now available on my Linktr.ee/GiftedTawk. There are 2 different versions available: One with numbers and solutions; the other is a blank for your students to fill in their own numbers based on my hints. Enjoy!
