I’ve been conducting an experiment. If I’m asked how I am I say ‘Well, thanks’ but don’t follow up with ‘how are you?’ It’s amazing how many people reply ‘Good thanks’ even when I haven’t asked them. No idea what this daft experiment is teaching me but it’s been making me smile.

Chris Weston, CEO Thames Water, said that he didn’t want customers to be alarmed at the prospect of possible public ownership. I am exactly the opposite of concerned! The profit motive ruined this organisation. It forgot it was a public utility. Give it back to the public.

As someone who leads an organisation with a high quality research team, I’m interested in the dataset, the quality of questions asked, the respondent sampling technique, and the response rate. 98% has all the legitimacy of a Russian Presidential election.
