I'm getting to the point where I think we need to worry much less about the consequences of students misusing AI in education + instead worry much more about the consequences of adults misusing AI in education.

I've learned a lot from Twitter. I've met incredible people. But at the same time, no place makes me doubt my abilities and convictions as an educator more.

My classroom doesn't look like your classroom. It shouldn't. We don't have the same learners.

My blend of inquiry, direct instruction and assessment pedagogy will not be the same as your blend. And that's how it's supposed to be.

My first day of classes is Thursday. I will not be giving a test to see what my students know. Instead, I will be engaging them in a variety of different mathematical related tasks to get to know them and who they are mathematical learners.

Dear math teachers, You are not starting the first day 'behind'. There is time to engage with all the learning you need to. We don't need to perpetuate a feeling of panic in math class.

The more I learn and reflect, the more convinced I become that none of us should have a 'grade book'.

This is dating myself, but remember in Indiana Jones, when he had his father's Grail Diary? That is what I want each of my students to curate -- a 'grail diary' of their learning journey.
