Huge talent Dawn Patrol will be an interesting observation on Saturday. Wouldn’t have had a saddle on his back (walker his only exercise) from approx July 9-Aug 7 while doing quarantine in Newmarket & Mickelham. Potentially on a wet MV deck too. He’ll sleep well on Saturday!

Will Dreamforce be able to lead on his own terms tomorrow, or will Man Of Peace be pestering? If he can control the race, you’d think he’ll give an enormous kick, and give Zaaki something to really chase.

Berdibek’s (super-fit horse currently) win in the Wyong Cup hasn’t done any harm to the prospects of Kukeracha (coming into peak fitness) in tomorrow’s Chelmsford Stakes.

Cats wingers (Smith and Menegola) work really hard both ways. And have all season. Can be found deep in offence and defence. A great left/right combo. The rest of Geelong’s ball winners need to step up next week to be any chance against the Dees. Go Cats

Nervous Witness $110k 2019 Inglis Classic sale. Wins on debut over 1000m at Sha Tin in the most auspicious fashion for David Hayes. 55.71 untouched.

These 3 fillies do battle again tomorrow at Sandown and will dominate the market, which currently has them in the same finishing order Personally I thought El Patroness (3rd in this race & therefore 3rd pick in market) is a clear top pick and the best of the day She’s a talent!

Some of the better Brett Prebble Flemington 2500m rides: 1998 Hotham/Saab: Star Binder 2000 VRC Oaks: Lovelorn Aug 2021: Schabau Sep 2021: COOLTH? I imagine Coolth’s not the easiest horse to ride, especially first time on his back. But if anyone’s up to the challenge…

A mini test of the Kapalua Sunset (big winner today) form will be Morrisette in Oaks trial tomorrow. Both ran in 1512m Geelong maiden 1st up. Morrisette travelled better in the run (KS needs to rectify if she’s to be Oaks contender), both efforts had merit going forward this prep

Moonee Valley exhibition gallops on 31/8 & 20/9, jump outs on 7/9 & 15/9 for PROFITEER in prep for Moir 24/9. A busier than standard schedule of late, which made sense when the stable mentioned he missed a week’s work about a month ago when bloods were nqr. Plenty on the line!

Wouldn’t surprise if Solar Apex won a BM race in town in a couple of weeks and then found a little race in Melbourne over the carnival. He’s had the perfect 2 runs this prep to keep raising the bar. Love how he’s going about his work now as a gelding.

It’s been entertaining watching J-Mac & Willow jostle for position on Zaaki CW: ☎️ jockeys in UK who previously rode him, Zaaki merch, filming duties, etc J-Mac: returns serve ‘sit and steer job’ and then the nail in coffin ‘whatever he does next two starts I’ll be back on’ 🐎💨
