Six fire appliances have been sent to the Braemar Lodge Hotel in Braemar, after a blaze broke out shortly after 0730 this morning. We don't yet have details of any casualties.

Crew out this weekend refreshing our Flood Responder and Swift Water capabilities. Due to COVID restrictions, courses like this have been difficult to organise so great to be out, learn new procedures and practice them in the water.

Over the last couple of day’s, we’ve been down supporting our Colleagues in West Calder with the Polaris ATV, helping Transport Personnel and Equipment considerable Distance and difficult Terrain. In the extreme heat, Firefighters put in another hard Shift. Happy to help. #SFRS

Out on the Hill today carrying out our Annual 1 Day Refresher Course for our Polaris, and just had to demonstrate a Failed Hill Ascent. Great day and a high standard of driving by the candidates. #SFRS

Great interaction with the Pupils at the Alford Academy Careers Evening tonight. Promoting the Values of Scottish Fire and Rescue, giving them an insight into SFRS. Using the VR Goggles to show them of the dangers and distractions that can occur while in a car with their friends.

Looking forward to taking delivery of these all terrain vehicles as part of Scottish Fire and Rescue Service significant investment in tackling wildfires. Based on risk we are training Firefighters and positioning new vehicles, equipment and PPE across Scotland in support of our Wildfire Strategy.

We had a great day today engaging with members of the Public at Ballater Victoria Week, Vehicle Parade. Unfortunately we had to cut our visit short again due to “Fire Call” but thankfully we made it back before the end. Heather and Harris again proved popular with all ages.

Attended a DYW Event (Developing the Young Workforce) involving Pupils from Aberdeenshire to promote the Values of Scottish Fire and Rescue Service should they choose this as a Career Path + discussed the valuable contribution On Call Firefighters give to their Local Communities.
