The debate around the Alzheimer's Society ad is very toxic. It is an argument about two points of experience. The sole promotion of either side can be upsetting but it should be possible to accept the existence of the other without seeking to silence. One does not diminsh the other.
Thread 1 I've been thinking more about Alzheimer's Society ad & reaction to it. Some ppl are critical of the 'living well with dementia' idea that I unashamedly advocate for. They say that this shows ppl are wrongly diagnosed and/or don't have dementia 🧵
