Darragh Scott Perfect illustration about how people think about food today. No value placed on it. Way too cheap for way too long = zero consideration for what it costs to produce it, and I don't mean just money.

Bord Bia boss Larry Murrin grilling at Agriculture & Food Committee 05/02/26 Really Kicking Off I'd really ask you to be brief, you're wearing down the clock as far as I'm concerned William Aird TD Excellent line of questioning - you can understand how betrayed compliant Irish

Brigid Laffan Cliff Taylor Irish Farmers' Association The Irish Times I disagree Brigid and Cliff. I think you forget the context of Bord Bia - The Irish Food Board I first encountered this issue back in 2010. I bought eggs in Ireland covered in Irish flags and carrying “Bord Bia approved” branding with the national flag. Like most consumers, I assumed they were produced

Watching the Oireachtas hearing on loss of confidence in Bord Bia. It seems that the chairman's company declared it was part of the BB grouping, which the chairman declared was a baseline for involvement in selling under the BB assurance scheme.

🇺🇦Noel O Connor🐄 (@1noeloconnor) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Then, under questioning, the chairman admitted his company wasn't in compliance with his previously stated baseline and the logo on the BB website was changed to the lesser scheme, the Food PricessorStandard, the following day. And now it appears his company isnt a member of this

Bord Bia is in charge of labelling Irish food. Yet so much food sold in Ireland as Irish food is anything but Irish food. Well done Paul Lawless. 👏

Further Significant Double Standards by Bord Bia Chair Larry Murrin’s company, Dawn Farm Foods, is not a member of the relevant Bord Bia Quality Assurance Scheme, the Food Processor Standard. When appearing as a witness in front of the JOC for Agriculture as chairman designate

Broccoli labelled “Irish” – out of season. “Irish Herbs” grown in Kenya & Spain. “Irish Tomatoes” from Spain. Senior officials could not clearly explain how this is happening, what checks are in place, or what penalties apply. Instead, promises to “look into it.”

Continued support for the Bord Bia chair is untenable- it's very difficult to explain that the chair insisted that all farmers "get on the bus" to comply with B Bia QA standards when his own company does not. Especially after failing to clarify this at Oireachtas hearing

They never added that they paid €135k to a food catering business last year owned by Larry Murrin’s wife and which Larry himself is a director of.

David Kerr I don’t agree, you buy into their self promotion of all the work they are doing. Talk with some of the people selling our product and see how useful they are. Also if we do not to have an adequate labelling/origin of product, we have nothing.
