In the gathering twilight gloom, lifeguards rescued a surfer stranded on a rock at Gwithian Towans, Cornwall yesterday. One lifeguard guided the surfer into the water before a colleague on a rescue water craft took them safely to shore. #BeBeachSafe and have a happy Halloween

New data shows demand on RNLI lifeboat crews soared as summer lockdown was eased

Today we remember a rescue that became the greatest loss of crew from a single rescue effort in the RNLI's history. It serves as a stark reminder of the selflessness of our crews that remains to this day.

Our volunteer #RNLI crew launched at 7.50pm last night (13 July). A yacht with engine failure was in difficulty near Trevose Head. Once on scene & after assessing the situation the yacht was towed safely to the mooring in the Camel Estuary. Thanks to Matt Robins for the photo.
