This morning I set out to capture the moon setting over the Mr. Rogers Statue in , the the nearly perfectly clear skies (there was a single cloud right under the moon) made for ideal conditions. The spring colors below the statue were a great addition as well.

All that rain from last week has really made spring pop around , and West park around Lake Elizabeth looked incredible this morning. I've always loved this line of cherry blossoms with the benches below, with the city just visible through the not-quite-full trees.

Two days in a row with a beautiful sunrise in ? I'll take it. Though not as vibrant as yesterday's, the light combined with the sea of clouds and incline made for a beautiful view to start the day this morning. Shaping up to be a gorgeous day in the Steel City.

With all of the excitement from the monster lightning on Wednesday in , I forgot about the storm earlier in the week. A lot of the lightning stayed north that night, but I had a camera pointed at the Cathedral as well, where I caught this bolt and dramatic clouds.

What a sunrise in this morning. Rain moved across the city just as the sun was coming up, and it looked like it was raining fire below the clouds. Love how you can see the lights from the boats in the foreground in this view from the West End Bridge as well.

This might be the most perfect lightning strike to go with the skyline that I've ever shot: it literally looks like the three rivers around the city. While I have large strikes from last night that I'll be sharing, this one was too cool not to share first.

One of the largest lightning strikes I've ever captured in . This storm was just unreal to shoot, and this strike was the most incredible ones of the night. The way it arched over the entire city...still can't get over it. So many to come, but this is a clear favorite.

I think that was one of the greatest nights of lightning I’ve ever shot in . So many amazing bolts.

Just wait til you see the image from this strike which I captured in slow motion as well.

What a night.

Though the branches on these trees have thinned over the years, they still provide a beautiful frame for the Clemente Bridge in . I've been looking forward to this shot for a few years, as the bridge has been under construction the last few years. Always a favorite.

One of the more unique lightning shots I've captured in and not necessarily because of the aesthetic of the bolt. There was a strike on either side of me (one on the left was VERY close) and it acted like a strobe light, freezing the rain drops in the shot. Just wild.

There's a short window for the trees along the North Shore of where there are still blossoms on the branches but plenty on the ground as well. Last week after the rain was the perfect spot in that window and made for a beautiful frame for the Clemente Bridge.

Finally got the chance to go through the rest of my lightning images from last night in and I have a bunch of cool ones to share, including this one. This squiggly bolt came out of an opening in the clouds directly above the city...talk about perfect placement.

I'll have plenty more lightning images to post but wanted to share a few images from some recent film I got back. These are views from a beautiful morning on the North Shore of , with the sunlight making the cherry blossoms glow.

How about those storms in last night? It was nearly four straight hours of lightning in some direct, and while a lot was in the clouds, a ton of bolts found their way out as well. Lots of wide angles to share, but this telephoto of PPG Place is one of my favorites.
