A couple views from Point State Park in #Pittsburgh on Tuesday of the reflection of the Ft. Pitt Bridge (in the fountain) and the West End Bridge (in the Ohio River). The Ohio is rarely that calm, and while not as pristine as the reflection in the fountain, was still a cool view.
Heckuva sunrise in #Pittsburgh this morning. There was an opening in the clouds in the perfect spot above the horizon, and the sky lit up just as the Duquesne Incline descended Mt. Washington. Couldn't ask for a better view to start the day.
Hands down the most intense storm I've ever captured in #Pittsburgh . The lightning was constant and when it finally hit the city it was just SO bright; like something out of a movie. The first is a single shot (not a composite) and the second shows a bolt hitting the North Shore.
Another view of the sunrise this morning in #Pittsburgh , but instead of reflecting in the fountain, this is a view looking up the Allegheny River. I waited until the sun was peaking through the upper and lower deck of the Ft. Duquesne Bridge, making for an amazing view.
The stages of sunrise in #Pittsburgh this morning from the fountain at the Point. I've been looking forward to capturing sunrise from here ever since they refilled the fountain, and this morning was the perfect opportunity. Crazy how much the sky changed. What a sunrise it was.
It's rare I capture a lightning bolt in #Pittsburgh that I don't see, but this was one of them. It was on the edge of my frame and I was so focused on the shelf cloud last night that I didn't notice it until today. Just a mile or two to the left and it would have been perfect.
A closeup view of the partial rainbow over #Pittsburgh last night from the West End Overlook. A very isolated rain shower moved over the North Side and the sun broke through enough to form this rainbow right over AGH. Woulda been cool if that plane flew through the rainbow too.
Early morning fog and calm rivers made for some amazing scenes along the rivers in #Pittsburgh today. Between the bridge lights and the city illuminating the fog, this panorama on the North Shore has a creepy but beautiful vibe. Fun start to a Monday morning.
What a night of weather in #Pittsburgh today. From shelf clouds, dramatic skies, this partial rainbow, and even some lightning, it was a lot of fun to capture. I ran a timelapse for over two hours, but until I get to that here's some beautiful light and that rainbow over AGH.
A couple more images from this morning in #Pittsburgh , this time ones that feature the moon a little more prominently. After capturing the moon above PPG Place, the image I went into town for, I headed over to the North Shore for the shot of the moon sitting atop the Gulf Tower.
Another view in #Pittsburgh from this morning, this time from the North Shore before sunrise. The moon was coming up right over the Andy Warhol Bridge, and I composed the scene so that the path lead right to the bridge. Love how the bridges are always gold in the morning now too.
It has been a LONG time since I've shot sunrise from this side of Grandview (I would say the fall, but maybe last summer) but this morning was the perfect day for it. There was plenty of color over #Pittsburgh and I love how the city is kinda nestled in the tree line as well.
