30 years ago, April 9, 1989, #Soviet troops, using chemical weapons and tanks, attacked peaceful demonstration in #Tbilisi and brutally killed innocent civilian protestors, mostly women. This day woke up nation, led to independent #Georgia. RIP 🇬🇪

April 9, 1991, Supreme Council of Georgia led by Zviad Gamsakhurdia declared independence of #Georgia, ending thereby 70 years of Soviet occupation. We cherish this date and continue to fight for our statehood, integrity, European future and liberty. 🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪
