I’ve always said that a grown man calling himself “Scottie” should be an arrestable offence. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hilarious. Nikita Zadorov on Evander Kane looked like he was trying to stuff four months of Amazon delivery cardboard boxes into his blue bin.

Oilers are at 50.0% on the PP in the post-season. If they go zero for their next 246 PP attempts, their PP would still rank ahead of the Leafs. (Yes, I actually did the math!)

Ninety-one-year-old Doris Haynes is the captain of Team Tanev. I’m telling you, she’s all in on the Stars and it’s all because of No. 3. Who else is with her?

Also, Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!

Guy next to me at the bar in Aruba pulled out a credit card with a Maple Leafs logo on it. Didn't seem too amused when I told him I assume he's only buying the first round. Too soon I guess

With Tij Iginla trending as NHL draft talk rages on, I once again provide this ‘friendly’ PSA regarding the proper spelling of his dad’s name. I’ve seen it wrong so many times.

It took a while for the offence to come in William Stromgren’s first season in North America, but after going 4-13-17 in his first 57 games, he was 3-7-10 in his final 11. Then tonight, the 20-year-old Flames prospect notched this beauty and had an assist.

Sean Monahan’s body has certainly been through enough in his NHL career to be deserving of a long Stanley Cup playoff run. It’s great to see him as a key contributor in Winnipeg and love seeing that big smile after he helped set up the Jets go-ahead goal.

So, Chris Tanev and Noah Hanifin end up meeting in the first round. Didn’t see that coming.

Not real helpful for the Flames, who have conditional draft picks tied to Dallas and Vegas both having success.

Not sure how helpful it is for the Golden Knights either, to be honest.

MacKenzie Weegar has been great and on Thursday he capped off an impressive season in style with a goal that was meaningful in three ways. e.g., Breaking an Al MacInnis record just doesn’t happen often. My story for The Canadian Press Sports after a 5-1 Flames win. thestar.com/sports/hockey/…

Late night thought as I wrap up my 35th year covering games for The Canadian Press. Flames may not have those coveted A++ prospects yet, but in the likes of Wolf, Zary, Pospisil, Klapka, Coronato, Pelletier and Miromanov, there are pieces in all sizes and skillsets that intrigue.

In a disappointing year for the Flames, Nazem Kadri continues to be a bright spot, along with whomever is playing on his line — Andrei Kuzmenko the latest beneficiary with 9 goals and 16 points in his last 9 games. My story from Sunday for The Canadian Press Sports. theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/…
