Taipei has names instead of numbers for some bus routes on Google Maps (Chongqing Main Line). Then the bus head sign is written only in Chinese with an accompanying route number that isn't listed on Maps! This has caused us to miss our bus on three separate occasions.

My latest for The Urbanist! Urbanists like Victor Steinbrueck have been discussing pedestrianizing The Ave since the '70s. Fifty-plus years later--after a pandemic that made people value outdoor spaces more, and the advent of light rail in the U District--could it finally happen?

'npm' doesn't stand for 'Node Package Manager'.
It stands for 'npm Is Not An Acronym'.
Why not 'NINAA'? Because then it would be an acronym.

For the most part, most of these designs would transform Aurora into a proper dense neighborhood street. Nice work, SDOT & Spotts.

Concentrating so much housing growth in the south end is what causes displacement and gentrification. There should be way more blue areas in rich neighborhoods.

I think a harm of online activism is the 'THIS IS ACTUALLY EASY' argument.

I've seen lots of folks indicate that a single billionaire could solve homelessness, or that there are 30x more houses than homeless people so we could just give them all houses.

There's a problem that everyone in Seattle (both people that do and don't drive) encounters as the city grows.

Geometry.

The property manager at the building we're in the middle of signing a lease at 'is no longer working' at the building and we're now dealing with the manager. She seemed really great. Bad sign?

I believe this is the first time Sound Transit - 🚆 🚈 🚍 has had accurate realtime information, including on signage, during a temporary service disruption. Despite the frustrating delays, the new PIMS system seems to be showing its abilities finally. Pics from new signs @ Columbia City
