Over the past month, I taught a unit on neoliberalism followed by one on CRT, gender theory, & intersectionality -- & I couldn't be more delighted to read about the 'protest consultant' on the job at Columbia U. It's a perfect illustration of how those 2 units go together.

The biggest unacknowledged bias among the political class is the failure to recognize that being really 'into' politics is a niche activity, and being really interested in political *ideas* is even more niche.

My take on this: People who aren't far right should recognize that very sharply declining fertility rates all over the world are in fact a very big deal and not cede the issue to the far right.

Wow, you people are still monomaniacally obsessed w Israel-Gaza protests by the leftward most 5 percent of college students. Why? The left is obsessed because they think the publicity helps the left, whereas the right is obsessed because they think the publicity hurts the left.

In the Gaza-Israel protests, FIRE sure is definitively proving, as it always claimed, that despite funding by conservative foundations (e.g. Scaife, Koch) along with liberal ones (Bloomberg, Knight), they’re aggressive defenders of free speech of all kinds. Good for them.
