How do river deltas build land? Like this. As water from the muddy Mississippi River enters the coastal zone, the flow spreads, water speeds decrease and sediment settles out of the water column, creating a deltaic deposit. #coastal #louisiana #delta

A huge day for coastal Louisiana! This decision validates the work of hundreds of the brightest engineers and scientists from across the world and concerned citizens from Louisiana who helped develop this project.

🇳🇱 Water Envoy Henk Ovink during this week's press briefing with 🇹🇯 and UN DESA Sustainable Development. #UN2023WaterConference doesn't come a moment to soon and is only just the beginning - we have to radically change the way we think about how we use, manage, and value water.

Strong language. Includes landlords. Does not allow "unknown" as an answer for whether property is in the special flood hazard area. Requires notice that flood insurance may be required + floods not usually covered by standard home insurance. A great move! njleg.state.nj.us/bill-search/20…

ICYMI: A MAJOR bill passed in NY yesterday - amending our broken flood disclosure law that allowed sellers to pay $500 to opt-out of providing property-specific information on flood history and risk! We now have a flood risk right-to-know for buyers and renters! #Rise2Resilience
