Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and mother figures! Our country can and must do better for moms. That means affordable, quality child care, paid leave, accessible and equitable maternity care and the enhanced Child Tax Credit.

Last week, I led 31 Congressional Dads Caucus members in demanding answers from U.S. FDA on how lead was allowed in kids' food, including applesauce and Lunchables, and what they're doing to ensure it never happens again.

This should have never happened. We need answers.

We lost a cherished member of our caucus today. Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. was a champion for families and will be deeply missed.

No amount of lead is safe for kids - lead in applesauce, lunchables, or any food is flat out unacceptable.
