Ryan Poles is clearly not happy the league didn't award them the two compensatory picks for Ian Cunningham. Said he would talk to the media more at the Owner's Meetings.

Ryan Poles on if the Bears were involved in trade negotiations for Maxx Crosby: "We’re always going to monitor every situation. ... I mean, we checked into it and looked to see if it made sense, had some dialogue, but I’ll just leave it at that."

I’m not sure who needs to continue to hear this but the #Bears defense was bad last year. Sure, losing Kevin Byard & CJ Gardner-Johnson kinda sucks but this was expected. The MUCH bigger issue at hand is still their DL.

Great special teams guy to have around and a nice fill in depth option if needed 55% special teams snap count in 2025, 39% on defense

Yeah the reason the Bears don't have a good DL is lack of premium draft capital spent there since Poles took over. Yes it stinks the guys he has taken haven't hit but most of those guys league wide don't. But we also wanted him to take Caleb and Rome and Darnell etc.

My preferred option was just a nice lil Crosby trade shortcut but you generally can't buy a pass rush very efficiently or build one out of late round picks. They've just needed their firsts elsewhere. Now that's the missing link

Matt Clapp Having to change the roster with a new coaching regime (the Bears are on their third coaching staff since 2021) also means more turnover as they bring in the guys the new staff wants. Hopefully, Ben Johnson and his coaching philosophy will stay in Chicago for decades.
