Really excited to announce that Iโve been awarded Associate Fellow status by Advance HE!
Thank you to the various folk who have invited me to guest lecture, and to Newcastle University Geography for the wonderful teaching opportunities over the last few years!

Lots of uproar in response to this but this is genuinely a relatively common experience (for many people with #TouretteSyndrome ). Iโve had this all throughout my education from GCSE to PhD, and in employment too. The stigma sucks, so donโt be sad for me, be angry!
Shoutout to the staff at ASDA tonight who saw me tic and decided that it meant I must have stolen. They kept me for 45 mins whilst they โmade callsโ to see if #TouretteSyndrome existed. All I wanted was coriander and I ended up trying to prove my diagnosis to strangers? ๐คฏ
Iโm always hesitant about these โsuperpowerโ narratives because us neurodivergent folk should be allowed to be ordinary too... to not be called an โinspirationโ for going to the shop alone would be a lovely change. Also we shouldnโt be exploiting โจ anybody โจ right? RIGHT?!
Hi #TouretteSyndrome researchers! I'm trying to find published statistics on the number of TS diagnoses amongst BAME/global majority ethnic people, or differences in diagnostic numbers based on ethnicity. Does anybody have any suggestions of papers?
