I want to applaud Senator Chris Murphy 🟧 (D-CT) for introducing The National Strategy for Social Connection Act. This is a critical next step in response to Vivek Murthy, the U.S. Surgeon General’s groundbreaking advisory declaring an epidemic of loneliness and social isolation.

Developing a national strategy for addressing this growing epidemic, which has devastating health consequences, will create much-needed avenues toward solutions and best practices for improving individual health and longevity outcomes for those at significant risk.

DOROT has worked tirelessly for more than 45 years towards alleviating social isolation and loneliness among older adults through quality intergenerational programming.
