REMINDER: The deadline for flood survivors to apply for the Property Tax Relief Deferral program is tomorrow, April 10, 2024. Several other deadlines are approaching as well, including the CalFresh Hot Food Waiver (04/10), SBA Disaster Loans (04/19), and FEMA Assistance (04/19).

ICYMI: Residents who were impacted by
the January 22nd floods have until April 19 to
apply for FEMA assistance. There are two Disaster
Recovery Centers available, which
serve as a one-stop-shop for flood-related needs. Apply for assistance directly at
disasterassistance.gov.

The Mesa College Art Gallery recently launched an exhibit honoring Black women throughout San Diego. I was honored to join the reception celebrating the resilience, strength, and beauty of Black women through the powerful lens of art. 🎨✨

While help has been available from the State and FEMA, we are still in a crisis, and we must continue exploring options that reflect compassionate leadership, dignity, and respect and provide genuine support for our residents.

So thankful to the Southeast Disaster Response Team for engaging compassionate volunteers to support families impacted by the flood. Our communities are hurting, and it was beautiful to see neighbors working together to build a strong recovery. Together, we will get through this.
