It was a gorgeous day on Dent Postman's Path #Cumbria. The postman came down from the station with the mail. It's now done by van but those living on the path all know the postman by name - and one couple said he even leaves a handwritten note just to say he has no post for them!

More than 10,000 images in the Sankey Photograph Archive have been digitised & online, free of charge. The Sankeys were photographers based at Barrow-in-Furness, and the collection (1900-1970) includes views of many towns and villages in Cumbria.sankeyphotoarchive.uk

The Ministry of Justice is proposing to digitise post-1858 wills (which is good) but then to destroy, with a few exceptions, the originals (which is not 😥).
