Like Gov. Abbott, House Republicans are scheming to defund our public schools with private school vouchers. At a Ways and Means Democrats, I spoke against GOP vouchers that will undermine federal aid to public schools, which serve 90% of America’s children.

It is absurd that a billionaire in America today pays the same amount of Social Security taxes as someone making $168,000 a year. It is time to scrap the cap, expand benefits, and fully fund Social Security.
