Integrative Science for Healthy Aging students, Gisella David and Isabel Dionne presented a poster discussing the effect of sleep on cognition among aging adults at the FSU 24th annual Undergraduate Research Symposium. Gisella and Isabel work with Dr. Julia Sheffler.

Sara Green and Brenda Echeverri co-led a virtual Project Management Workshop for K Scholars. Key elements of project management, including tools and examples, were shared with attendees.

Biological risks for dementia can be reduced by improving diet. Dr. Julia Sheffler shared about this and her research at the Gadsden Senior Center. Naomi Frederic also attended to assist with recruitment efforts and sharing about the Integrative Science for Healthy Aging program.

Dr. Sylvie Naar and Sara Green traveled to DC with UF collaborators, Drs. Bob Cook and Preeti Manavalan, to seek out input from NIH staff on a future North Florida focused Developmental Center for Aids Research (D-CFAR) application. The team received favorable feedback.

Drs. MacDonell and Wang recently toured clinical partner sites in Bangkok, Thailand. As part of NIH-funded projects on HIV prevention, investigators seek to implement tech-based intervention tools that partner sites can offer to young adult patients to reduce the risk of HIV.
