Sports Day preparations are underway! 🥳⚽️🥅🏆🏅🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️Cross Ash Primary

What a fantastic show of support, encouragement and perseverance from our pupils during Cross Ash Primary Sports Day yesterday. An emotional final Sports Day for our Year 6s, but they certainly made the most of every second, from organising events to supporting FP pupils! 🏆🏅

We’ve had a great week working on our National Gallery #TakeOnePicture projects based on ‘Surprised’. We’ve developed and applied a range of skills from clay modelling and painting, to creating games and Minecraft builds. Our tiger model is also coming along! Cross Ash Primary

In our Circle Time we discussed the impact of positive and negative comments on mental wellbeing. It can take less than 3 seconds to upset someone or make them smile. Let’s make the world a more positive place by spending those 3 seconds making someone happy. Cross Ash Primary

We marked #EarthDay #diwrnodyddaear by discussing the Wales that we want for our future. We discussed the positive and negative impacts on our environment, and the ways in which we can make a more sustainable Wales for us to grow up in. #ethicalinformedcitizens

After taking part in the #RSPBBigSchoolsBirdwatch last term, we have been back out to replace the bird feeders that we made. The birds are enjoying them, and it has been lovely to see the robins, blue tits and blackbirds nesting in our grounds. #ethicalinformedcitizens

We had a great afternoon with James Williamson from Criced Cymru / Cricket Wales 🏏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. We worked on our bowling and batting skills, and had great fun playing some team games as well - diolch yn fawr! Cross Ash Primary #healthyconfidentindividuals 🏏

Our Year 6 Expressive Arts project reaches its exciting climax tonight with the first performance of The Next Big Step! The pupils have been the driving force from the very start, and have developed skills in directing, props, set design, lighting and much more! Cross Ash Primary

This week we have enjoyed completing our creative work celebrating International Day of Peace 🕊️

Today we have been learning how to greet each other in different languages. We have been creating posters to promote #EuropeanDayOfLanguages and learning the benefits of being able to speak and understand a different language.

We were so lucky to have a visit from ‘Betty Campbell’ on Friday. We heard all about her life, and the challenges she overcame to become the first black Headteacher in Wales. Such an inspiring story - diolch yn fawr Mewn Cymeriad

Heddiw, we have been using the beautiful Autumn leaves to convert fractions, decimals and percentages. We were able to describe the leaves yn gymraeg - ‘mae 3 dail yn oren’ 🍁🍂🍃
