This week in #ForestSchool, #YearR listened to a story called, The Zoo Vet. Then they listened to a clue about a zoo animal, and had to find the corresponding animal hidden in the outdoor classroom. One budding palaeontologist even found a 'T-Rex bone'! #outdoorlearningactivity

At #ForestSchool today, #Year3 were learning about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. They did a fun activity sorting which animals were which. We even had a visit from a friendly frog! #outdoorlearning

Years 1-5 really enjoyed learning about recycling and the importance of looking after the planet through coding. We even had a special visit from a guest robot who said hello during the workshop. #codingforkids #friendlyrobot #debugging

#YearR's recent #forestschool was all about autumn. We did a scavenger hunt to match autumnal pictures and letter sounds to make a phrase. The phrase was: Harvest is here. We also made some delicious-looking autumn mud recipes using our recipe cards!

#Year1 went on a special field trip to Yateley green to explore the human and physical features. They also had a great time playing on the play equipment! #welovegeography🌍 #schooltrip

Linked to their WW2 topic, #Year6 learnt about the importance of coded messages during the war. They de-coded their own messages by using the cyphers hidden around our outdoor learning area. #forestschool #historyfacts

Despite the torrential rain recently, #Year1 managed to still get out to enjoy our outdoor learning area. They made some autumn themed "recipes" in our mud kitchen and were surprised at how many worms had appeared because of the wet weather! #forestschool #whatevertheweather

In #forestschool today #YearR did a scavenger hunt looking for the first signs of autumn. We also listened to the story of 'The Little Acorn' which followed the life of an oak tree. #outdoorlearningisfun

#YearR have been enjoying their 'Dear Zoo' topic over the last couple of weeks. Reading new stories, re-telling and role-playing stories, putting on puppet shows, painting, turning themselves into lions and building LEGO models to name a few! #welovereading📚

#Year3 have been learning about maps in class so, in #forestschool, they created simple maps of our school using natural materials. There was even time for some bug hunting! #geographyisfun🌏 #minibeasts❤️

#Year1 enjoyed the fantastic autumn sunshine in #forestschool this week! We looked at leaves in great detail using magnifying glasses. They then drew their leaves using the fine details that they'd seen. There was even time to enjoy some time in our reading tent and mud kitchen.

#Year2 have been enjoying the lovely autumn weather in #forestschool (before the rain came!). We went around our site looking for signs of autumn, then made musical shakers with our autumn finds. #makingmusic #outdoorlearning

In the #universityofcranfordpark Faculty of Communication & Collaboration we worked in three teams to see which team could build the tallest marshmallow tower. It was a close competition, but the winning team's tower stood 27cm high!

#YearR have been having lots of fun with their 'Funky Fingers' (fine motor) activities. They have been: hammering, screwing, threading, hole punching and using tweezers! #finemotorskills
