The worthiness of disabled lives should not be a debatable issue.

Usually overwhelm is associated with negative experiences, but Autistic ppl can also be overwhelmed by positive experiences. Many Autistic ppl will stim to some degree when talking about / experiencing one of their stims.

The guy presiding over a catastrophically broken and underfunded mental health system wants to raise awareness, everyone. You might think that fixing the system would be top priority if he cared about suicide prevention. But, no. Awareness.

A toxic system will always fight for its own existence. So, cycle breakers in toxic families become scapegoats; in toxic churches they become "apostates;" in toxic professions they become "unprofessional" "troublemakers." Wear it w/ pride, fam. It means we have their attention.

ProTip: It's ok to be frustrated after being ignored for many years while screaming at the top of your broken lungs for help. It's ok to be angry with those around you for not believing you. It's ok to be mad. Try, if you can, to do something good with that energy or let it out.

Those who’ve had to fight for their healing have a strong reaction to inauthenticity. People blame them for being too much, when it’s really because there’s not enough truth around them. Not enough resources. Not enough honesty around systems that keep people in pain.

Zero mentions of how the last 2 reviews of the AODA were ignored by the Doug Ford government & that it’s missing mass requirements for entire categories of disabilities as a result. People can get fines for tall grass but access rights still depend on lawsuits. It’s ridiculous.
