In our Literacy sessions we have been using descriptive language and similes to write about ‘If our world was filled with rubbish…”

In Dosbarth Lleuad we have been using our numeracy skills to sort and classify in different ways.

Dosbarth Enfys were very shocked to find that their class beach had been polluted with lots of plastic and pollution! Good job we have so many caring pupils who collected it all up again ☺️👏

Dosbarth Seren visited Cosheston church to explore the burial ground and write prayers for the environment. Thank you Reverend Hannah and Mary for planning such lovely activities for us.

We enjoyed reading the empathy story - Apollonius the pit pony. There were themes of kindness, bravery and diversity and lots of information to help us understand the life of a pit pony and the people working with them in the mines. We completed lots of drama activities too.

Everyone is enjoying our Open Garden today. All very impressed with everything we have all done to make it a lovely place for the children to work, play and reflect. Thank you for including us in a lovely community event.

A vocal start to the week in Dosbarth Lleuad. After finding out lots about the effects of rubbish on our planet, we will be taking on the role as activists to make positive changes to our environment. Just like the children in our focussed text ‘Old enough to save the planet.’🌎

Oh no! We have had a few problems in school this week thathave required our help. Good job we can transfer our numeracy skills to help us solve problems independently 😃

We were so lucky today to be joined by different members of our local and wider community to help us learn more about rubbish and recycling. A huge diolch to our visitors for their time and information share, the pupils were delighted to interview you all☺️👏🌎

Using what we have learnt this term to make a difference to our planet 🌎 ♻️

After writing our own draft letters to Pembrokeshire County Council, we collated a class letter to ask them to take action to provide better rubbish and recycling storage. Hopefully we can make a difference for our community ♻️

A fantastic day at the Pembroke Cluster Rounders tournament. We had a great day, making it through to the semi final 👏 very proud of all who played…children from Year 3 up played with great confidence and skills. Da iawn pawb.

A lovely turn out for our school fete today🌞A huge thank you to our friends of the school for all your hardwork and effort arranging it all and to all our helpers on the day. We appreciate the continued support that really benefits our pupils all year long ☺️

What a lovely day filled with visitors today. Our first visit was from theSea Life Trust, sharing lots of knowledge with us and an amazing presentation about local sea life and how to look after it. 🐳

Our next visitor was from Mrs Burrell, an ex primary school teacher. She shared lots of memories from our community in the past. We also loved playing some of the games children used to play and listening to a story with Mrs Burrell 📖

Last week our Year 3s worked collaboratively to design, create and host their very own Escape Rooms. What fantastic problem solving and critical thinking skills everyone 👏
