Chicago White Sox Comiskey Park and Chicago Cubs Wrigley Field joined by @ArlingtonRacing which, could be home of Chicago Bears lol. City of Evanston lighthouse and BahaiTeachings.org Temple
Higher Ed gets a nod with The University of Chicago, Northwestern and University of Illinois Chicago architecture featured (sorry Loyola University Chicago and DePaul University). A diff type of education occurred at the Greyhound Bus terminal at Clark/Randolph, which made way for the Chi Title & Trust Bldg (now Grant Thornton)
Finally, some see first/last in Chicago is O'Hare Intl. Airport. A handy Loop map w points of interest is on inside cover and final shots are Buckingham Fountain and a night view of downtown. That’s a lot of souvenir #Chicago for a couple bucks in 1976! Hope you enjoyed this look back!

As Cook County Government celebrates #blackhistorymonth2023 we honor some of the most consequential African Americans to play leadership roles in Cook County. The first Black elected official in Illinois history was @cookcountyboard Commissioner John Jones.
The Great Chicago Fire led to creation of the Union Fire Proof ticket and need for prominent members to rebuild. Jones owned $100,000 of real estate in Chicago and was a leading voice for the black community. A month after the fire, Jones was elected to the Cook County Board
John Jones would serve on the Cook County Board for two terms. He would retire in 1873 and passed away in 1879. He died as one of Chicago's richest men and is buried in Graceland Cemetery next to his wife, Mary.
The first Black Canadian licensed Medical Doctor was Anderson Ruffin Abbott and has a link to Cook County Health. He would serve as a surgeon in the Union Army. In 1894, became surgeon-in-chief at Provident Hospital and medical supt from 1896-97. #BlackHistoryMonth
