Three of our young Mexican gray wolves have arrived safely at their new home at Brookfield Zoo Chicago in Chicago. The move allows the brothers to imitate the natural process of dispersal and gives our 20 remaining Mexican gray wolves a little more elbow room. bit.ly/3UcCvpP

Our #flamingos are making a splash at The Swamp! Flamingos spend lots of time in shallow lakes or streams, sometimes in salty or brackish waters. Luckily, they have a secret talent: the ability to filter out the salt in water through their nostrils!

Double the horns, double the fun - Happy #SiblingsDay from Sahara and Ike! Sahara (right) is the older of the two siblings and her horns are more developed than Ike's (left). She has a slight curve to the bottom of her horns and deeper ridges, while Ike’s are smooth and straight.

Weighing in at a steady 130 pounds, our adorable #greyseal pup has been exploring every nook and cranny of his behind-the-scenes habitat. His animal care team reports that he's even begun to vocalize with his other grey seal and sea lion neighbors! Stay tuned for more pupdates.

When you visit Desert's Edge, be on the lookout for our Pallas's cat hiding among the rocky terrain. These wild cats are small and stocky, around two feet in length, making it easy for them to sneak into small spaces!

Two female and two male #meerkats were born on February 11 to mom, Naomi and dad, Tebogo. This is the first litter of meerkats we've had at Brookfield Zoo Chicago in almost 10 years, and we're thrilled to welcome the quartet of cuteness to the world! Visit them at Desert's Edge.

Weighing in at less than 1.9 pounds, the #screaminghairyarmadillo is the smallest of the three species of hairy armadillo. When you’re that small, your protective gear matters; these armadillos have overlapping scales called scutes which acts as a shield over their head and body!
