A lil reminder that it’s day 10 with no civil society or charity minister and yet the labour government said it wanted to work with the sector - how will it do that with no dedicated minister?

Also, why are no civil society reps talking about this? Too polite? More patient than some of us?! Perhaps there is some exciting plan afoot which is taking time but on the surface it's extremely depressing and a little insulting.

Interesting to see civil society in France coming together 9 days after the election to put pressure on politicians to appoint new Ministers.

Post Office destroys lives, Water companies pollute our rivers, CCRC leaves innocent people to rot in prison, Covid ministers’ incompetence costs thousands of lives but nobody is punished. Stop traffic on M25 & get 5 years in prison. This is brutally unjust theguardian.com/environment/ar…

Also some very timely research from Social Enterprise UK out today showing how social enterprises pay better, offer training, involve employees in organisational decision-making, and retain staff. Worth a look ⬇️

Last year I was commissioned by the UK ministry of housing to write a report on the demand side-drivers of the housing affordability crisis. After some election-related delays, here it is. (1/13) ucl.ac.uk/bartlett/publi…

Confirmed Increase in Employer NICs by 1.2%, and reduced secondary threshold to £5000 a year. Alongside the new rate of NLW, another increase in the cost of operating for many charities. Some additional support is needed to help them remain sustainable. #AutumnBudget
