Really pleased to see HSBC are working with Surviving Economic Abuse to better equip their mortgage advisers to spot signs of economic abuse and support people in need. We now need to see more high streets banks follow suit. bit.ly/42xEqJy

Pleased to see govt close loopholes that allow abusers to enter our police force or remain in it. But govt must go further and ensure all officers are legally required to hold vetting so we can root out police abusers for good. theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/aโ€ฆ

Domestic abuse impacts over 800,000 children. This is a sobering fact we must confront head on. Teaching children about respectful relationships will help to address this harm, alongside investment for services so no child is forced to face abuse alone. bit.ly/3RDq2t9

A new report commissioned by my office shows the lack of specialist services for deaf victims of domestic abuse to access when they need help. Marie Vickers from SignHealth explains why the govt's spending review must urgently fund by-and-for-services๐Ÿ‘‰bit.ly/3EJ7JjB

This funding will bring relief to victims and their children, boosting vital services that support them in their most vulnerable moments. I hope govt's VAWG strategy will build on this to ensure every victim gets what they need, when they need it, so they can recover from abuse.

With the government currently reviewing sentencing to help ease prison capacity, I'm deeply concerned that abusers will be released into the community without proper monitoring in place. Ministers must ensure victims do not pay the price for the prison overcrowding crisis.

Domestic abuse has a devastating impact on millions of lives but for too long the true scale has remained hidden. I welcome any further evidence that helps us understand how we can tackle this terrible crime and better protect victims. bbc.in/43huvqZ

By adopting these measures govt will send a clear message to domestic abusers that they can offend with little consequence. I understand our approach must change to address the prison crisis but watering down our criminal justice system is not the answer. bbc.in/3HliRDV
