Mae asks that if you take your pet out to hike be mindful of the hot temps. If the temp is 98 degrees, the rocks can be near 120 degrees. Here is an easy test. Put the back of your hand on a rock, if you can’t hold it there for 5 secondsit’s to hot for your pets paws. Hike safe!

The boat ramp is closed to boats requiring a trailer to load or unload due to low water level. Only kayaks and hand loaded/unloaded watercraft are allowed to use the ramp. Contact the park for more information.

The low water crossing at Cherokee Creek before entering the park is currently flooded and there is no access to the park at this time. Rangers will update once water recedes and access is available. #texasstateparks #turnarounddontdrown #coloradobendstatepark

The water is receding over the low water crossing at Cherokee Creek and will be passable in a few hours, warranted no further rains. Conditions can change quickly with additional rainfall so plan accordingly and be smart. #coloradobendstatepark #texasstateparks

The raccoons at Colorado Bend State Park are kind of working on their manners. They just forgot to put the trash back in the trash can.
