The phrase ‘too many exclusions’ is often used. But the current rate is 0.12%. That’s incredibly low. 1. And what is the *correct* rate? Until we know that, we can’t know if it’s too high..or too low? 2. Schools only exclude for the most serious or persistent of behaviours:

Yuan Yang MP, my former FT colleague, did great and courageous reporting on human rights abuses in Xinjiang. It says a lot that Israel will not let her into the country

I am entirely with Kemi on this. The obsession with Adolescence is wild. It's a fictional story. I don't think it's compulsory viewing for politicians. Focus on what's real, whatever your political persuasion.

Most people don’t understand how *new* most cancer treatments are. The treatment that cured my lymphoma was developed when I was a teenager. The treatments that will cure our children’s cancers are being put on hold right now.

I appreciate what the NHS is trying to do here. I wonder the extent to which this contributes to telling young people that they should have a deficit in their mental health when for the vast majority, tests are something that we should be encouraging to be a normal part of life?

As AI encroaches more into the classroom, it becomes increasingly obvious that the remedy to cheating in essays and homework is to set as much assessed work under traditional examination conditions as possible: timed, supervised, pen and paper. You know, like we did for centuries

The Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill threatens the progress our education system has made over the past 15 years. We must stand up and protect our schools. Write to your MP and ask them to protect what works - Fix the Bill, don't break our schools👇 newschoolsnetwork.org/future-of-free…

The total number of medically-reported dog bites in America did NOT increase. The number of dog-related hospitalizations or deaths DID increase. Folks, it's pit bulls! A retriever may bite you and need some stitches. A pit bull will kill you.

The Government needs to hold its nerve in the Lords and push forward with the Planning Bill the Commons passed. There is too much riding on the Government hitting its ambitious housing targets and unlocking planning to make concessions that would block house building.

This is where our second paradox comes in. Research finds younger populations are more innovative, while older ones protect the status quo. So it could in fact be the case that having fewer kids *hinders climate progress* by reducing innovation and growing the share of NIMBYs.

Hospice crisis deepens. Zero comment anywhere from Falconer or Leadbeater. Hospice UK CEO tells the BBC: “What would it say about us as a country if someone decided to opt for an assisted death because they were worried that they wouldn't be able to get the care they needed?”

Except that every other country in Europe that I have looked at teachers grammatical terminology to primary aged children and it's not controversial. But somehow it's too much for English children.
