Here's "Trump'll Nail Ya" - a song about the #BBC legal crisis (set to the tune of the shanty "Drunken Sailor") which created a big internal debate about what's a gremlin and what's a mogwai. 🎶⚓️

I’m so sad to hear this. My first newsroom is shutting down. Feels like the end of an era. Local papers do so much quietly — court, council, community stories that no one else picks up. We really need them. When local papers go, accountability goes with them.

And remember too that the media regulator Ofcom allows GB News repeatedly to vomit propaganda pretending it’s news - breaching Ofcom’s own published rules. Ofcom refuses to use the powers it has to rein in the rogue broadcaster. Guess who appointed the Ofcom chair?

The layers of BBC news managers are terrified of the right…whether its Robbie Gibb, the Times/ Mail/ Telegraph …or Trump…until that fear is more widely recognised the debate over ‘impartiality’ will remain absurd:

I've never ever known a BBC Political editor say their job is to "call it". Make judgements. Opinions etc. Their own impartiality rules say the BBC should not express opinions. We pay them to provide facts. Also, a very weird use of "we" at the end. We need answers.
