Grazing cattle are now on #StokeCommon. Some of the cows are pregnant. Did you know that dog faeces can carry Neospora parasites that can cause cows to abort their calves? Learn more πŸ‘‰ buff.ly/3X8VpzZ Don't be the cause of calves being aborted. Spot it. Bag it. Bin it.

It's #WorldBicycleDay! Cycling is an environmentally friendly form of transport & a great way to travel to #BurnhamBeeches. Please keep the soil healthy by only cycling on the tarmac roads. Off road cycling can cause severe local ground erosion, harming vegetation & wildlife.

The #woodcock is a shy, #NocturnalBird with declining numbers in the UK. If it is #Disturbed while at it's nest during daylight hours, this can impact its #NaturalBehaviour patterns. We encourage visitors to stay on the main paths and keep dogs alongside. Thank you.

When branches are moved for #DenBuilding some of these organisms will die, leading to #PopulationDecline in already #RareSpecies. If you walk in #BurnhamBeeches, please leave the sticks on the ground and don't #BuildDens on the #NationalNatureReserve #UKNatureConservation

It's #WorldLizardDay! The common lizard, Zootoca vivipara, found at Burnham Beeches & Stoke Common, can shed its tail to escape predators. The tail regrows but usually shorter than the original. This is a protected species so please do not disturb them & stick to the main paths.

Please be aware that feeding or petting our #cows and #ponies will result in them losing their natural ability to find food. We want the #livestock to live as naturally as possible while on the #NationalNatureReserve so we ask that visitors enjoy them from at least 5 meters away.
