Today is #WorldHealthDay2023, the 75th anniversary of the World Health Organization! So many are without healthcare globally so this upstander, Marc Mitchell, is working to improve healthcare in developing countries. Celebrate world health today and to tackling health challenges!

April 17 marks the beginning of #AnimalCruelty Awareness Week, meant to raise awareness to the mistreatment of animals all over the world. Young upstanders like Genesis Butler are leading the charge to educate others about animal cruelty, and how it affects the earth.

Today marks the start of World Immunization Week! There are at least 4 to 5 million lives saved as a result of immunization, and taking actions like the ones Thomas Tighe is doing helps so that vaccines are more readily available and accessible!

This May is Asian and Pacific Islander Month, a time to celebrate those in the US, their culture, traditions, and history. The Upstanders Club recognizes the work of Dr. Russell Jeung in creating Stop AAPI Hate. Happy #asianamericanpacificislandermonth!

February 1 marks the start of Black History Month. Join the Upstanders in the 2:40 FLEX session this February 9 to listen to Dale Long, a survivor of the 16th Street Church bombing by white supremacists. His story is important, and we hope to see you as we honor this month.

On January 26, the Upstanders held FLEX sessions that included participating in the Holocaust Butterfly Project and listening to Holocaust survivor Hanna Scrob’s experiences. We want to thank Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum  so much for helping Newtech honor Holocaust Remembrance Day!
