It’s almost like GMC are making it up as they go along in desperate sophistry to make a political imperative to undermine doctors and provide ‘medical professionals’ on the cheap with totally inadequate training. Physician assistants yes, associates no.

Firstly PA scope is not clear and they are being asked to do wild things

Then we see those who have not passed the PAMVR working as PAs

Now we see those suspended from the PAMVR working as PAs.

This is insane

The GMC was created to prevent non-doctors pretending to be doctors and causing harm to the public.

In 2024, the GMC wants to regulate non-doctors who pretend to be doctors after a ludicrously easily 2 year unaccredited course.

Hope they are ready for the future Inquiry.

Called GP surgery for 8 year old, told them symptoms ,sent photo, said what I tried already & not better.. told needs appt within 1 week. Got there & seen by a PA who said will discuss with a GP & get back. The system is flawed! Waste of resources &time + PA’s shouldnt see kids!

The consultation failed to address the most immediate & important issues around PAs/AAs.

It will largely be a rubber stamping exercise despite no agreement from Doctors & the public that the GMC is the right place for regulation.
