The trouble about distant 2050 net-zero targets is that it distracts from the fact that climate change is now and action is urgent.
The sorry state of south west WA's forests is an early sign of what is at stake.

Should the Australian government owe a duty of care to children & future generations when making decisions that will worsen climate change?

Morally, yes absolutely.

Now Anj Sharma and allies are trying to get this duty written into a new law. A must-watch AustralianStory

Maybe 2024 will be the year that more and more people will grapple with the challenge that it is features, not bugs, in current dominant systems that give us everything from plastic particles in our tissues to a warming earth to sacrifice zones and poverty.

Anyway, maybe 2024 is the year that more and more people will recognize the nature of our crises and get more curious and more courageous and figure out what each of our parts is in taking apart the harmful features and crafting something more life sustaining.

For every tonne of climate pollution saved by the Anthony Albanese government policy, 7 tonnes are emitted through new coal & gas projects approved or supported by the gov. Doesn't add up and is unacceptable. Australian Conservation Foundation acf.org.au/outweigh-emiss…

The Production Gap Report 2023 is out now!

It finds governments plan on producing more than *twice* the fossil fuels in 2030 than the 1.5ºC limit allows.

This is a huge economic and climate risk and urgently needs closing.

Hate re-sharing this stuff but people have been talking about this for ages (and for hundreds of years before I was born).

When I was 15 I explained why I support the Voice, on Saturday I'm going to vote for it.

Join me in building a better future for this country. Vote Yes.

When you consider how to cast your vote in the referendum - and if health is important in your decision-making - then across the health sector all of our organisations recognise that a Voice to Parliament is likely to help close the gap.

I hope that helps you decide.

Today, I'm backed by my senator, David Pocock, in launching my campaign to establish a duty of care owed by politicians to young people, ensuring that our health and wellbeing is considered when making decisions that could affect the climate system.
