“We left everything behind under gunfire.” Helene’s family are among 1.7 million people who have fled the fighting in eastern DRC. With funds from Church of Ireland Bishops' Appeal & Presbyterian Church our partner BOAD gave cash to more than 200 families now living in camps in Goma to pay for essentials.

I remember seeing the death toll hit 30k a few months ago, the cold dread at how high it could continue to climb. Now nearly a year of this brutality, 40k dead, thousands more uncounted for beneath the rubble. 1-in-50 of Gaza's entire population. Sickening theguardian.com/world/article/…

Yet another horrific threshold has been crossed – at least 40,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza. Most have been women and children. This bloodshed must be brought to an end. Only an immediate and permanent #CeasfireNow can prevent more needless loss of civilian life.

At least 40,000 killed in Gaza by Israel. A horrific milestone that should never have been reached. How many more lives will be lost to starvation, disease & airstrikes before our political leaders take real action? We need a #CeasefireNOW Find out more caid.ie/FV

With all eyes on Gaza, it's really important to see The Irish Times also covering what's happening in the West Bank. An explosion in violence, demolitions, displacement, theft - making everyday life for Palestinians impossible. Great piece Sally Hayden irishtimes.com/world/middle-e…

Gaza had its first case of polio in 25 years due to the squalid conditions people are forced to endure. Our local partner PMRS is part of the major vaccination campaign currently underway to stop the disease spreading. But only a #CeasefireNOW can prevent further loss of life.

'We have never gone past that step of rhetorical condemnation. That’s what this Bill is about. It’s about ensuring no Irish commercial activity will sustain a situation that the government have said again & again is illegal'- Conor O'Neill at the launch of the Campaign to #PassTheOTB
