It is welcome that Keir Starmer has recommitted to the last gov’ts proposals to compensate the victims of the contaminated blood scandal. However, there is still much work to do to ensure that the payouts are fair and reflect the horrors and suffering endured.

With thanks to House of Commons Speaker, there will be a vote tonight on the SNP amendment calling for an end to the two-child benefit cap. We have gained cross-party support in our efforts to lift children out of poverty and I hope that all MPs from Scotland will vote with us tonight.
