Here’s a pick me up during these strange and challenging times from @inkdwell “We created this monument as a way to create urban monuments to the natural world, but our hope is that these works can also inspire real world action. Mural location: 943 Howard St, San Fransisco “

Our ninth prize winner is danielgeorge from iNaturalist.org! This sighting is the most easterly report we've received, near PinnaclesNPS! Take a look at how battered those wings are. This monarch has probably been traveling around for quite some time.

“Small plantings may seem insignificant to you, but if each yard devotes a small area to #pollinators, your neighborhood will serve as a season-long buffet of nectar and pollen that supports a diversity of #bees, #butterflies, and other flower visitors." buff.ly/2KaD5j9

This evening begins #YomHaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. My son made this video in memory of Manny Taiblum, a survivor he met several years ago who has now passed on. #RememberingFromHome Remember. Remember. Remember

#happy50th #earthday! Today is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day! Although we have to celebrate without the energetic gatherings we're used to, this might be the best Earth Day yet. While we're all #stayinghome we're cutting emissions and making our #earth very happy. #earthday50

#EarthWeek tip #3: Support local conservation groups. If you want to make a greater impact on the well being of our #earth, look up local environmental groups that you can donate your time or money to! #EarthDay50

Earth week tip #4: Avoid captive rearing monarch butterflies. Captive rearing monarchs can enhance the risk of parasite transmission, it can dilute genetic diversity, and studies have shown that captive reared monarchs have lower migration success. xerces.org/blog/keep-mona…
